Cleaning the Impress Caput

If you observe that the printed prototype is unexpectedly faint or dots in the printed image are missing, yous may be able to solve these problems by cleaning the print head, which ensures that the nozzles are delivering ink properly.

You can clean the impress head from your computer using the Head Cleaning utility in the printer software, or from the printer itself by using the printer's command console buttons.

Note:

Print head cleaning consumes some ink. To avoid wasting ink, clean the print head only if print quality declines; for instance, if the printout is blurry or the color is incorrect or missing.

Use the Nozzle Check utility first to confirm that the print head needs to exist cleaned. This saves ink.

Do not beginning the Head Cleaning or Nozzle Check utility while press is in progress; otherwise, your printout may exist marred.

Using the Head Cleaning utility

Refer to the advisable section below to utilize the Head Cleaning utility.

For Windows users

Follow the steps below to make clean the impress head using the Head Cleaning utility.

Click the Utility tab and click the Caput Cleaning button.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

The power light and the ink lights flash while the printer performs the cleaning cycle.

If the nozzle check page does not print satisfactorily, you may need to repeat the head cleaning and print the nozzle check pattern once again.

If impress quality hasn't improved after repeating this procedure four or five times, turn the printer off and leave it alone overnight. So exercise the nozzle cheque again, and repeat the head cleaning if necessary.

If the print quality all the same has not improved, some of the ink cartridges may be old or damaged and may need to be replaced. To supersede an ink cartridge before it is empty, see Replacing an Ink Cartridge.

If impress quality remains a problem afterwards replacing the ink cartridges, contact your dealer.

Note:

To maintain print quality, we recommend printing a few pages at least once every month.

For Macintosh users

Follow the steps below to make clean the print caput using the Head Cleaning utility.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

The ability light and the ink lights flash while the printer performs the cleaning cycle.

If print quality has not improved subsequently repeating this procedure four or five times, turn the printer off and leave it solitary overnight. Then do the nozzle check again, and echo the head cleaning if necessary.

Follow the steps beneath to clean the impress head using the control panel buttons.

The printer starts cleaning the print caput and the ability light and the ink lights begin flashing.

If print quality has not improved afterwards repeating this procedure four or v times, turn the printer off and leave it solitary overnight. Then do the nozzle check over again, and repeat the caput cleaning if necessary.
